Tiredness

If I didn't know otherwise, I would swear that I jump up for Carnival for the from friday to tuesday. If I didn't know I spent those four days sleeping and playing on facebook - I would seriously wonder why I am so very tired ... and desperately looking forward to the weekend, where I can sleep some more.

Maybe just maybe, I shouldn't have had that little nap this evening. Then maybe, I would be asleep all snug in my bed until the 4 am alarm in the morning. Instead, I'm blogging ... yeah ... you read me.

Happy Birthday Avi - we will miss you always :(

Plagued by my Bouncident

My boyfriend coined the phrase "Bouncident" for my accident and since I also like to bounce stuff alot.

I cannot get this accident out of my head. I was actually in my bed trying to sleep but my mind instantly began replaying images from the accident. It was like reliving the bloody thing!!! I had to get up, restart my machine just to rant!! Just how fucking long is my conscience going replay this shit? I mean, yes, I know it was a stupid accident. I mean, after my years of driving, I would know better than to hit a PARKED vehicle!

For cripes' sake - I wish I could just sink into the earth with how embarrassed I get whenever I think about it. I feel like bashing my head into the wall - but that would only damage the wall ... I mean, c'mon how long am I going to beat myself up about this??

The answer: forever ... or maybe until my next accident ... whichever comes first.

Another Day, Another Accident

It's unbelievable - I got into an accident on Friday. Gah! I'm so blighted. I've gone back to hitting stationery objects again.

I have no idea how I hit the guy's car. I thought my front left bumper hit his front left bumper but yesterday I saw no damage to his bumper. Still, it was the most unlucky accident I've ever been in and I've been in a few strange ones.

This is how the accident occurred: I was proceeding North along the main road after dropping my mom at home. I came to a complete stop in front of a car parked on the left side of the road, because a van was heading South and that driver had the "right of way". So I stopped and waited for him to pass on. He blinked his lights at me indicating that I could go on through. So I proceeded to do just that. I locked to turn to overtake the parked car and then  "BANG!!!". I panicked really badly. Instead of hitting the brakes, I just continued hitting the gas to try to get away from the car I hit. I made it worse. At one point in time, the left side of my car was off the ground; I thought my car was going to flip over but it didn't. I don't even know how it managed to get back on the ground.

According to my Dad's mechanic, I damaged my left axel, cradle and inner cup. Basically, my car cannot be driven. So we towed it to the mechanic and then again yesterday had it towed to my straightener. He'll see about fixing the mechanics and body work for the car.

So, tomorrow, I have to make the claim at my insurance ... yay me! And now I have no car to go to work with - I'll be using public transport till I get back my car ... nice ... not!

Auspicious Occasion

Yesterday was the Election's in Trinidad and Tobago. On one side we had the ruling party, the PNM (People's National Movement) and on the other side, we had the PP (People's Partnership) made up of the United National Congress, the Congress of the People and the TOP. I know that leading up to Election day that most people were concerned about who would win, mainly because it seemed that the PNM had its claws sunk so deeply into Trinidad and Tobago. However, I can proudly say that intelligence overcame the "party-loyalty" mentality.

The electorate voted for CHANGE ... and never have I been prouder of my fellow Trinbagonians ... I guess people can only take so much before they are willing to make a change. The People's Partnership won 29 of the 41 seats that comprise Trinidad and Tobago. As has been constantly said during the victory speeches ... it is a victory for the people!!! With this victory came the first woman Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago. This is another history making event.

I hope that this country realises the battle that is to be fought over the next five years. With the recession slowly releasing its grasp on our economy, it is going to be a long and difficult road for the upcoming future. We would need to seriously rebuild our economy and stop the excessive spending that went on during the previous administration. We would need to work hard, each and every citizen of the country to become a country we can all take pride in.

I look forward to the challenge ...

RIP ACR [1987-2009] - The Funeral

The funeral was set for 1:30 pm to take place at the Roman Catholic Church a minute away.

Firstly, the body came to my grandmother's house. I took my grandmother to see ACR one last time. My grandmother cried as she stroked ACR's face. ACR's mother fainted when she saw her daughter. Even now, it's hard to write the events of that day.

We went to the Church for the start of the funeral. My aunt and I had made it clear that in no way was SRV wanted at the funeral. My cousin was dressed in her pink prom dress with her tiara. My little cuz always loved pink ... She looked peaceful ...

Both sides of her family placed red roses in her coffin. The mass was presided over by a Priest who was a close friend of the family. Most persons didn't expect her coffin to be placed at the front of the church, since she was supposed to be a suicide. We found out during the Mass that she was given last rites and given the rites of the sickly. I'm not a Catholic, so I wasn't familiar with the jargon.

The priest did his best. He told us not to blame ourselves for what happened, and not to cast judgement on ACR. It was a very lovely ceremony.

Afterward, my aunt and I walked with her friends to the cemetery. It was faster that way. We stood there as she was lowered into the grave and we stayed until she was properly buried and placed arrangements on her grave. My uncle told me later that SRV and his cousin were looking at the proceedings from afar. The cemetery is VERY close to where SRV lives. SRV ran away as soon as my uncle called out to him to come down.

My little cousin - you will never be forgotten. You were a lovely but misguided young woman. You were a wonderful mother to your two children. You had your whole life ahead of you ...

MAY YOU TRULY REST IN PEACE
